On this cultural rollercoaster, you will get to know the locals, the customs, the history, the wildlife and the beautiful landscapes.
You will get an introduction into the Voodoo way of life, and discover that it's wildly different from what you see in the movies.
We will show you the magnificient history of Bénin with all of its kingdoms, and even a subterrain world.
You will meet the locals and see how they live and you can even experience it own your own in Tata Somba country.
We will visit parc Pendjari, officially recognised as Unesco World heritage Site where you will be blown away with the feelings a real safari invokes in people.
In Togo we will visit the beatifull mountain scenery and coffee, cacao and palm plantations.
To go short, 22 days of culture, history and nature and all of that for a very sharp price.
You will get to know the authentic West-Africa, off the beaten track with our expert guide who knows the ins and outs of all the must-see places.
We will pick you up at Cotonou or Lomé airport.
As a first introduction to the African way of living, we begin our journey with a visit to the Dantokpa market, the largest market in West-Africa.
After our visit we will travel to Ganvié, a magical laketown, also known as the Venice of Africa.
We will spend our first night there, feeling a thousand miles away from civilisation.
The next day we visit the Songhai Center, an institution that exists to contribute to the development of Africa through the creation of green rural cities.
After the visit we take the road to Abomey, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Dahomey. In the nearby town of Bohicon, we visit an underground village, before returning to Abomey, where we can visit a real queen's palace with a chance to see the demonstrations with the queen.
The next day we visit the royal palace of Abomey before going out to Dassa where, on arrival, a visit of the village and the cave of the Virgin Mary awaits us.
After this first night on the African continent, we take the short drive to Porto-Novo.
There, a busy day awaits us. We visit the center of Ouadada where we learn everything about voodoo and visit the voodoo temples.
We take the canoe (pirogue) to Adjarra on the mysterious Black River with a tropical and marshy atmosphere.
We return to Porto-Novo for a visit to the market and the old colonial town with its ancient mosque.
Tonight we sleep Porto-Novo.
After sleeping in Dassa we will hike the famous Dassa hills.
Then a long drive to Parakou awaits us, but rest assured, we will take a break in some villages along the way.
It is in Parakou that we spend the night.
In the morning we visit the royal palace of Parakou. With a little luck we will see the king. After that we visit the city and the cotton degrading factory.
Then we set route to Natitingou in the Atacora Mountains.
We spend 2 nights in Natitingou, where we meet the locals and you have the opportunity to get your own African traditional costume tailor made (included in our price).
We will visit the city and hike through the mountains to Kota Falls.
In the morning we visit the Tata village with a small hike. We visit budding jewelry makers and transformers of shea butter. We end with a festive evening with traditional dances before sleeping in Boukombe
We visit the Nengbeto dam and after that we set route for Kpalimé where we will spend 2 nights.
In the morning we hike Mount Kloto with views of Ghana before returning for a city tour.
In the afternoon we have a date with a waterfall and the fields of coffee, cocoa, and palm with the opprtunity to taste the palm wine extract
The next day we take the canoe to visit Togoville, our last excursion in Togo.
After the visit, we return to Benin, crossing the Illakondji border on the coast.
We arrive at Grand-Popo, where, depending on our arrival time, we can see the retrieval of the fishing nets.
In any ca we can relax on the beach, before a night visit to a village market.
The trip continues with a visit to Yaaba and Taneka villages.
We take the road to sleep in Tanoungou, where we visit the waterfalls.
We get up early for our safari in the impressive Pendjari Park. We will have a picnic at Mare Bali while spotting the rhinos before settling at the hotel Pendjari.
At nightfall we set out for another drive through the park. The chances of seeing lions and leopards are greatest at this time.
The next day we leave the hotel to do the last tour of the park before returning to Tata Somba country where we spend the night on the rooftop.
Today we cross the border with Togo en route to Kara.
On the way we visit Tata Tamberma in Kante.
We sleep in Kara and in the morning a city tour and blacksmiths await us.
We also visit the new market where you can buy the products of the blacksmiths.
We drive to Atakpamé for a hillside walk and we spend the night there..
We finish the sportive part of the trip with a hike on Mount Agou while corssing sevaral mountain villages.
Our legs can rest on the road to Lomé, capital of Togo, where we sleep in Lomé-Plage.
We get up very early in the morning for a visit to the fishing port, when fishermen return with their canoes.
After that we visit the big market of Lomé as well as the cathedral of Lomé.
We spend the night on the short Lake Togo.
Our last excursion by canoe takes us to Lake Ahémé with its fishermen.
On our way to Ouidah, we take the time to stop at Zé to visit the potteries market.
At the beach of Ouidah we can rest a little before retiring for the night.
The morning is the perfect time to go for a two hour walk on the Slave Route with its different stages. A local guide will explain all the perils slaves had to endure.
Today, we take another trip with the canoe, this time on the lagoon in the direction of the Bouche du Roi (Mouth of the King).
Along the way, we visit a mangrove and a small "salt village" where locals produce salt from the salt water of the lagoon.
On the beach we visit the marine turtle protection association before leaving for Possotomé.
Today, our schedule depends on your flight hours.
If we have time we visit the craft market in Cotonou and the Gahi market for healthy foods: nuts, peanuts, mangoes, pineapples ... and all other Beninese products.
Then we get you ready for your flight, after an incredible journey.

Tips
Bring ample quantities of sun screen, because it will be hard (next to impossible) to find in Benin. Especially if you have a sensitive skin, the African sun can be quite brutal.
